I teach Religious Education at a Catholic secondary school and I'm always looking for resources that bridge authentic faith and practical application for young people. I bought this kit personally first, worked through the guide myself, and then ordered 12 copies as optional enrichment resources for my Year 10 and 11 students who had expressed interest in spiritual protection and the lives of the saints. The response was remarkable — several students came back with questions I hadn't anticipated about spiritual warfare, about the Church's exorcism rites, about St. Benedict's specific history. The kit opened a real conversation. Three parents contacted me to thank me for recommending it. I'll be ordering more for next school year.
I converted to Catholicism two years ago from a Protestant background where saints were deeply unfamiliar territory. The St. Benedict kit — medal plus guide — gave me the proper catechetical grounding I needed. The guide explains the Church's theology of intercession clearly enough for a newcomer while still offering depth for lifelong Catholics. I learned about the Medal's history going back to the 6th century, the significance of the CSPB inscription, and the specific ways the saint's protection is invoked. I now have the medal blessed and wear it daily. This kit genuinely helped me cross a threshold in my Catholic identity. If you're a convert exploring the devotional life, start here.
My father lapsed from the Church for nearly 25 years. He's been slowly returning over the last two — attending Mass occasionally, praying again, reconnecting. I sent him this kit as a birthday gift because I wanted to give him something that honoured his journey back without being heavy-handed. The guide struck exactly the right tone: welcoming, grounded, unapologetically Catholic without being intimidating. He called me the night he finished reading it. He wept a little. He said he hadn't understood before that protection and belonging were the same thing. I honestly can't put a price on that. The only reason for 4 stars rather than 5 is the delivery took a few days longer than expected — the product itself is a 5.
I sponsored my goddaughter for her Confirmation this spring and I wanted to give her something with genuine spiritual weight, not just pretty jewellery. I ordered this kit to give alongside the St. Benedict medal I'd had blessed for her. The guide turned out to be the perfect companion piece — age-appropriate enough for a 14-year-old to engage with, but substantive enough that her parents have been reading it too. She told me last Sunday that she reads the morning protection prayer every day before school. That's all I could ever want. Beautiful product, beautifully packaged, and clearly made by people who actually understand the faith.
As a Third Order Benedictine I was prepared to be disappointed by a commercial product touching our charism. I was wrong. The guide shows real fidelity to the Benedictine spirit — the emphasis on stability, conversion, and obedience is woven into the protection protocols naturally. The author understands that Benedictine spirituality isn't about dramatic deliverance but about the steady transformation of a well-ordered life. The section on Lectio Divina as spiritual armour is particularly beautiful. The medal is correctly struck — I compared it to the ones from our monastery gift shop and the design is authentic. I'll be recommending this in our oblate newsletter.
I've been a Benedictine oblate for six years, and when I came across this St. Benedict Spiritual Armor Kit I wasn't sure what to expect. What I didn't anticipate was how beautifully the guide organises the protection protocols around the traditional Exorcism Prayer, the medal blessing, and the daily rhythm of Ora et Labora. Within a week I had restructured my morning prayer routine completely. The kit explained not just the what but the why — the history of the medal, the meaning of each letter on the reverse, the role of the saint's intercession in spiritual warfare. I've shared it with three men in my parish men's group and they've all ordered their own. Genuine, orthodox, and incredibly practical.
